Recently, Skoda launched the next-generation Octavia, which has received an overwhelming response from the buyers. Seeing the increasing competition Chevrolet too introduced the facelifted Cruze in India. Like two other car makers, Volkswagen is also planning to launch the facelifted version of Jetta to not let its competitors take the edge.
It is expected that the German carmaker will soon start taking bookings for the facelifted Jetta. The premium saloon will receive some upgrades both inside and outside, and will also get some additional features to keep buyers interested. According to some media reports the pricing for the refurbished saloon might remain same.
Talking about mechanics, the 2014 Jetta will retain its engine configuration. The diesel version of the premium sedan will keep the same 2.0-litre TDI turbo diesel mill that develops 138bhp and 320Nm of top torque, also the petrol model will continue with the 1.4-litre TSI engine that churns out a maximum power output of 120bhp and 200Nm. The petrol engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while the diesel engined Jetta will has two transmission options - a six-speed manual and a six-speed DSG automatic.
The exterior of the VW Jetta facelift is expected to receive some minor changes such as new Xenon headlamps and daytime running LEDs, however the other body parts like bumper, grille and others remain unchanged. To offer more sporty stance, the vehicle will also feature the redesigned alloy wheels. The company could also get some subtle changes to the interiors, however nothing has been confirmed about the same. It will also feature a climatronic automatic climate control.
