Volkswagen Group Welcomes Dr John Chacko as New Chief Representative India

Volkswagen Group, one of the biggest name in world of automobiles today announced Dr John Chacko as the new Volkswagen Group Chief Representative India. He will also hold a position of President and Managing Director, Volkswagen India Private Limited. The appointment will come into effect from December 1, 2010.
The company has traced 9 successful years of operations in India and has stepped in the 10th year with the same success. And now the company, with great pleasure announced its new Volkswagen Group Chief Representative for India. Dr. John Chacko is not new to the company as he has been working with this prestigious organisation as Technical Managing Director since 1978. Mr. Charcko has replaced Mr Joerg Mueller who will now work under different Truck's division of Volkswagen.
Dr. John Chacko holds a B. Tech degree from IIT Madras and has worked as Technical Project Leader with Volkswagen’s Project India. He has given a lot to the company in terms of wise decision making and strategy building for its Indian base. He has played a major role in establishing production facility in Pune. The company admired his great work and dedication in job while appointing him to this prestigious designation.
Dr. Chacko expressed deep pleasure in being appointed to this post. He said that he is full of excitement and looking forward for bigger and better challenges with this bigger responsibility. He was full of confidence to shoulder this big designation at the ceremony.
In India, Volkswagen has a huge root of around INR 3,800 crores (580 million Euros) investment which is certainly the largest investment from Germany based organization on Indian grounds. The Volkswagen plant is built with a capacity of 110,000 cars a year which will further be increased by 2011. The plant is capable of manufacturing three major modes i.e. Volkswagen Polo, the Volkswagen Vento and the Skoda Fabia. The construction of this plant took striking 17 months and was completed in June 2008. The success of this company can be traced from the fact that it rolled out its 10,000th car in June 2010.
