The used car business in India has ascended over the years and the car markers are planning to cash on this new development. After Mahindra, Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki India, the German auto maker Volkswagen is all set to jump on the bandwagon. In the initial stage of setup the company is eyeing metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai as the company has sold the highest number of units in these cities. With time, the company will advance to other big cities of the Indian sub-continent. Volkswagen plans to sell not only the used Volkswagen cars but also used cars from various other brands through its pre-owned car dealerships.

The company wishes to acquaint the Indian buyers with an entirely different approach and experience of buying and owning used-cars. Volkswagen will offer guarantee to the customers and will derive support from its financial arm, Volkswagen Financial Services for the purpose of offering a finance facility as well. The company is also planning on adding a twist to the equated monthly installment (EMI) concept; the company will include the car maintenance cost in the EMI which will ultimately reduce the load on the customers.

Owing to the plethora of available options in the Indian car market, the buyers are upgrading their cars sooner than ever. With newer cars coming in the market the buying and selling of used cars has grown vigorously.Since customers are upgrading cars soon enough the used cars are fetching good value in the market. The demand has shot up for the diesel cars in the pre-owned car market too. The prices of petrol cars are however sloping down and so the top end models of petrol cars can be bought for very little money.
