Volkswagen has revealed a hotter version of Polo – 2015 Polo GTI ahead of the upcoming Paris Motor Show (Mondial de l'Automobile 2014). This German hot hatch will go on sale in Europe soon after its public debut at the Show.
Sadly, VW India has no plans for this 1.8 liter turbo charged version of Polo, we'll be getting our spruced-up Polo – GT TSI and GT TDI very soon. Adding more on Polo GTI, it's not just the heart, it gets sporty treatment too, just like the Golf GTI. A signature redlining runs through the grille, the front bumper gets a new trapezoidal element to differentiate it from stock Polo, while the rear gets new two tone treatment with dual exhausts!
Step inside, the interiors of the new Polo GTI sees inspiration from its bigger sibling Golf. The overall layout of the dashboard is similar to that of stock Polo but features few sporty adaptations. It boasts new flat bottom multi-function leather wrapped steering wheel with contrasting red stitching, piano black finish on the interiors trims with metal inserts, touch-screen infotainment system and sporty chequered seat upholstery along with contrasting red stitching that continues on several areas to compliment the overall and black & red theme of the dashboard.
Powering the new Polo GTI is the uprated VW's 1.8 TSi motor. This four-cylinder turbo charged motor belts out 189.4bhp of max power while torque stands tall at 320Nm. The workhorse is mated to a six-speed manual transmission while double-shift DSG gearbox is also on offer with Polo GTI. This setup propels the hot hatch from naught to 100km/h in as little as 6.7 seconds and maxes out at 236km/h.
