The Volkswagen Polo that currently houses a 1.2-litre engine in both its diesel and petrol variants, is now working to develop a 1.5-litre diesel engine, which will be competent to churn out the maximum of 90-94bhp. The Volkswagen guys have been closely checking the market, and a good going Hyundai i20 and newly launched Fiat Punto 90HP must have surely inspired them. The engine to be used will be the same used in the Vento, which will be further tweaked to 1.5-litre to make it compatible for the Polo.
Although, the current engines too are decent, but VW seems in mood to make it much powerful to get an edge over others. Except the new engine, rest other features are expected to be the same as the current model, and who can deny that no other car in the segment is as comfortable and advance in features than that of the Polo. An engine upgrade would be an icing on the cake. We are not certain about the launch, when will it take place, so will update on the same as soon as we get the confirmation. Stay Tuned!!
