Volkswagen to launch Polo and UP at Delhi Auto Expo

Germany based world's leading auto company Volkswagen is all set to launch its new car, Volkswagen Polo, at the up-coming Delhi Auto Expo 2010. This much-awaited small car had to be launched last year but the company saved for the Auto Expo. This car will be the first Indian VW family car pitted against likes of Fiat Grande Punto and Maruti Suzuki Swift which fall in A2 car segment. The price tag of the car is calculated around Rs 4 to 5 lakh. Recently, the German company has launched compact car Volkswagen Beetle and Volkswagen Touareg, a SUV. These car models will also be lined up for display at the gala event in New Delhi. Other than these luxurious vehicles, the company is also planning to launch Volkswagen Up! and to display Volkswagen Golf at the prestigious show. The former is to be placed below the Volkswagen Polo. However, the Volkswagen Golf would be positioned above Volkswagen Polo in the international markets. No official comment is received about the launch of Volkswagen Golf in India but it may be brought at Auto Expo for display purpose. There will be more attraction in the form of Maruti Eeco for car lovers in India.
