Volkswagen is over joyed with the response it is getting for Volkswagen Vento in India. Volkswagen, the German car marvel placed Volkswagen Vento right before Honda City which was a strategic move from the company. Volkswagen auto giant has been surprising everyone with the range of products which are technologically advanced and luxury at par. With the growing popularity of its cars, the German carmaker is planning to further enhance its sedan to compete with Chevrolet Aveo, Ford Fiesta and Tata Manza. The German auto mobile maker is mulling soon launch 1.4 litre version of the Volkswagen Vento in the beginning of the next year. The Vento 1.4 litre engine is expected to be a petrol one which will pump a power of 85 Ps at 6000 rpm and offer a torque of 135 Nm of torque. The car is expected to be cheaper from the current Volkswagen Vento 1.6 litre petrol engine by Rs 60,000 and is anticipated to give excellent fuel efficiency.

Volkswagen Vento in India at present is doing well in the mid size segment with five models available. These models are diesel Trendline & Highline, petrol Trendline & Highline manual transmission (MT) and automatic transmission (AT). The sedan is manufactured at the Chakan facility in Pune, Maharashtra. The mid size sedan luxury is priced between Rs 7,02,883 to Rs 9,28,631. When the car was launched in the mid of the year it was said that, it is in direct competition with Honda City. But now it seems German auto giant is planning to give tough competition by bringing another version of the car.

The Volkswagen Vento is available with the similar engine which is affixed in Volkswagen Polo that is, 1.6 litre diesel and petrol engine. The petrol engine can produce 105 Ps torque however, the diesel variant can produce 250 Nm of torque. The Volkswagen Vento in India comes in manual and automatic transmission. The petrol variant is loaded with 5 speed and 6 speed manual and automatic transmission with triptronic and the diesel version comes only in five speed manual gearbox.
Volkswagen has further plans to expand on the Indian terrain. This German car maker from a long time has been wishing to fill the white space and add a new small car after Volkswagen Polo. For that the company is in talks with the current ruler of this segment, Maruti Suzuki.
