Volvo V40 Crossover Likely to Launch by June 2013

Volvo car corporation that unveiled the all new Volvo V40 Crossover at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September is now planning to launch the same car in India as well by June 2013. Volvo auto India that sells S60, S80, XC60 and XC90 in India, will now have its most afforable vehicle in India in the form of Volvo V40 Cross Country. The company hasn't however revealed or hinted at the exact price slot it will come in, expect the vehicle to be priced on par with its competitors including BMW X1, Audi Q3 and likes.
The Swedish car maker is currently focussing on enhancing its dealership base to untouched markets and promote the brand very well. The company roped in top Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh as its first brand ambassador in India and associated itself with the IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad as a sponsor. Volvo aims to sell around 1200 cars in India in the year 2013 and hopes the sales to grow with this new endorsement.
The V40 Cross Country combines impressive driving dynamics, interior comfort and a rugged personality with low emissions , impressive fuel economy and pioneering safety technology.Start/Stop is fitted as standard across the range,together with Bluetooth hands-free communication and wireless music playing, plus City Safety auto-braking technology and the V40's world-first pedestrian airbag. The V40 Cross Country is also the only car in its class to be available with Pedestrian Detection technology.
The India bound Volvo V40 Crossover is likely to a 2.0-litre D3 diesel motor under the hood, which mated to a six-speed AT gearbox will honk 163bhp power. Many of the above mentioned features sport the global version of the car which is being sold in various international market, so there might be some changes when it comes to India.
