This week’s biggest highlight is of course the Detroit Motor Show. Manufacturers across the globe gathered to showcase their new concepts and upcoming production-ready vehicles. Volkswagen unveiled Cross Coupe GTE while Ford GT made a magnanimous entry at North America's largest auto show. Further in Indian auto sector, we saw couple of new launches and introduction. Datsun launched its Go+ MPV along with Volkswagen bringing it's Cross Polo 1.2 MPI and Audi rolling its limited edition R8 LMX. Apart from the big happenings in auto sector, Cardekho today commences the first 'Mega Carnival' of 2015 in Delhi/NCR. With over 600+ used cars on sale at the Janmashtami Park, Punjabi Bagh, the event is being held for two days- 17th and 18th January, 2015.

This year's first Used Car 'Mega Carnival' in Delhi/NCR kicks off today
Cardekho, India's leading auto portal today commences the first 'Mega Carnival' of 2015 in Delhi/NCR. With over 600+ used cars on sale at the Janmashtami Park, Punjabi Bagh, the event is being held for two days- 17th and 18th. On offer are a wide variety of cars, ranging from small hatchbacks to big-bulky SUVs, the unique event has it all for sale. Datsun Launches Go+ at Rs 3.79 lac
Datsun in order to expand its model lineup has launched its sub-4 meter station-wagon Go+ at an starting price of Rs 3.79 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base D variant. Company has offered a total of four variants. The 'D1' which is next to the base variant is priced at Rs 3.82, followed by 'A' variant at Rs 4.15 lac and top of the line 'T' variant at Rs 4.61 lac. The car is now India’s first sub-4 meter station wagon which offers third row seats for passengers. Datsun has already started taking bookings for Go+ with a fully refundable amount of Rs.11,000. Volkswagen India launches Cross Polo 1.2 MPI at INR 6.94 lacs
Volkswagen has introduced a new variant of its Cross Polo, the beefed up version of its Polo hatchback. Priced at INR 6.94 lacs (ex-showroom Mumbai,) the all-new Cross Polo 1.2 MPI features a 1.2-litre petrol engine that puts out 74bhp and 110Nm of peak torque. The Cross Polo is Volkswagen’s competes against the likes of Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura and soon-to-be launched Hyundai Elite i20 Cross. Read More
Datsun Go+ compact MPV launched in Chennai at Rs.3.79 lacs
After the national launch in Delhi yesterday, Datsun Go+, the first sub-4-meter compact MPV in India, has been launched in Chennai today priced from Rs.3.79 lacs ex-showroom. The Go+ gets estate car styling offering a 3rd row of seats that can also be used for luggage, all under 4-meters in length. The Go+ gets features such as smart meter with gear shift indicators, follow me home headlamps, speed sensitive wipers, ventilated front disc brakes and mobile docking station. The Datsun Go+ is powered by the same engine that runs the Go, a 1.2-litre petrol engine making 68 PS and 104 Nm. Read More
Audi Launches Limited Edition R8 LMX at Rs 2.97 crore
The German luxury car manufacturer Audi has launched the limited edition Audi R8 LMX at Rs 2.97 crore (ex-showroom Delhi/Mumbai). This is a limited edition model with a production run limited to only 99 vehicles globally. The Audi R8 LMX is one of the most powerful Audi R8 ever as it churns a max power of 570 hp and accelerates 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 320kmph. Read More
Mahindra Updates Scorpio Lineup; S4+ and S4+ 4WD added
Mahindra, the homegrown manufacturer has updated its Scorpio lineup by adding two new variants S4+ & S4+ 4WD. In the process, S4 4WD is discontinued. Both the S4+ and S4+ 4WD are placed above the S4 trim. The Ex-Showroom Delhi price of S4 variant is Rs 9,29,578 while the S4+ gets a price tag of Rs 9,70,786 and the S4+ 4WD Rs 10,83,630. Read More
Honda Launches New Models of Brio and Amaze with Audio Video Navigation System
Honda in order to refresh its Amaze and Brio model range has introduced new variants featuring Audio-Video Navigation with slight cosmetic updates. The compact sedan Amaze now gets a new VX(O) grade which will be placed above the existing VX grade in Manual Transmission in both petrol and diesel while the hatchback Brio gets new VX grade with Black Interiors and Audio-Video Navigation. 550 hp Acura NSX makes world premiere at 2015 Detroit Auto Show
After years of teasers and lapping the tracks, Honda has taken the covers off the production version of its new supercar, Acura NSX at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The next gen NSX makes its debut twenty-five years after the first NSX came into the market. The new Acura NSX is powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 engine with a 9-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) and three-electric motor Sport Hybrid system that produces over 550 hp. Chevrolet has unveiled the all-new 2016 Volt electric car with new evolved design and extended range that offers 80 kms of EV range, better efficiency and faster too. The 2016 Chevrolet Volt gets a new lighter 18.4 kWh battery and uses 192 cells (96 fewer than current generation) resulting in a weight reduction of 9.8 kgs.
