Ashok Leyland and Nissan have a JV for the production of the Evalia. The benefit that Ashok Leyland gets? It will also sell its version of the Evalia, called as the Stile. Unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo, the Stile should come into production sometime this year.

The Stile will be powered by a 1.5-litre Ashok Leyland engine, which also powers the Dost.Ofcourse, the power rating will be higher on the Stile. It won’t be using Nissan’s 1.5-litre K9K engine. The Stile will be priced a segment below the Evalia and Ashok Leyland will be looking to sell it even in the commercial market. The Stile will also be available with Dual fuel (Petrol+CNG), which will further make it suitable for the inter-city travel.

The Stile is likely to have plug-windows, as we have seen on Tata’s Venture. The Stile will also get dual-tone interiors, and we believe it should be priced about Rs 40,000 less than the Evalia’s base model.  Ashok Leyland could also further diversify the Stile as a cargo van, as this platform is capable to do that. This will further enhance their sales, especially for transporters looking for city commute of frozen food, flowers etc. We shall keep you posted with more happenings on the Ashok Leyland Stile, once we get more details on it. As per our earlier report, the Stile is likely to come by March-April this year.
