MG Windsor EV

Latest Update: MG has teased the Windsor EV again, this time giving a glimpse at the exterior design of this electric crossover. Select MG dealerships are also accepting offline bookings of this upcoming EV. 

Price: It is expected to be priced from Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Battery Pack, Electric Motor And Range: Internationally, the Windsor EV (Cloud EV) is powered by a 50.6 kWh battery pack that feeds power to a single electric motor rated at (136 PS/200 Nm). The China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) claimed an expected range of 460 km for this EV, but in India, it will likely come with a revised claimed range.

Charging:

• DC charger: 30 minutes (30-100%)

• AC charger: 7 hours (20-100%)

Features: The upcoming electric crossover from MG will get features like a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a fully digital driver’s display, a panoramic glass roof, 135-degree reclining rear seats, and Auto AC with rear vents. In the international market, it gets features like a powered driver seat and a wireless phone charger.

Safety: In terms of safety, the India-spec model is expected to get 6 airbags (as opposed to 4 seen on the international model), electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic parking brake, and a 360-degree camera. MG could also equip it with some advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and autonomous emergency braking.

Rivals: The MG Windsor EV will act as a premium alternative to the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400, while being an affordable alternative to the Tata Curvv EV and the  MG ZS EV.
