Jetta 2011-2013 2.0L TDI Highline Review
Volkswagen Jetta is said to be one of the most luxurious sedan in its segment and is available in four different variants. The Volkswagen Jetta 2.0L TDI Highline is the top end trim in its model line up. This variant is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine, which comes with a displacement capacity of 1968cc. It is mated with a six speed manual transmission gearbox, which sends the engine power to its front wheels. This power plant has the ability to churn out 138.1bhp along with a peak torque output of 320Nm. It is incorporated with a common rail based direct injection fuel supply system. On the highways, this sedan can deliver 19.33 Kmpl, while in the city limits it gives close to 16.18 Kmpl. It also has some best in class comfort and safety features. The list of some significant features include an advanced music system along with speakers and a few input options, climatic air conditioner, parking assistance with acoustic warning and many other such aspects. The car maker is offering this sedan in five exterior paint options, which are Reflex Silver, Platinum Grey, Candy White, Toffee Brown and Deep Black with Pearl Effect finish for the customers to pick from.

The exterior appearance is quite eye catching with an aerodynamic body structure and striking features. Starting from the rear end, it is fitted with a bright tail light cluster, two chrome finished exhaust pipes, a high mounted stop lamp and an expressive boot lid with a chrome strip. The body colored bumper has a wide air dam for cooling the engine quickly and it is flanked by a couple of bright fog lights. The windshield is made in heat insulating glass and integrated with a couple of intermittent wipers.
Interiors:
The spacious dual tone internal cabin of this Volkswagen Jetta 2.0L TDI Highline variant comes with a chrome package, which gives it an elegant look. The dashboard is incorporated with a few features like an instrument panel, a lockable and illuminated glove compartment, a leather wrapped steering wheel and chrome inserted AC vents. The instrument cluster comes in white illumination and houses a low fuel warning light, driver seat belt warning notification, a tachometer, an electronic tripmeter and a digital clock. This turbo charged power plant is integrated with 4-cylinders and 16-valves using a DOHC valve configuration. It has the ability to generate 138.1bhp at 4200rpm in combination with 320Nm between 1750 to 2500rpm. With the help of a CRDI fuel supply system, this sedan can generate 19.33 Kmpl and 16.18 Kmpl on the highways and city limits respectively. This diesel motor is cleverly mated with a six speed manual transmission gear box, which allows it to attain a maximum speed of 210 Kmph that is quite remarkable for this segment. It can cross the speed barrier of 100 Kmph in close to 12 seconds.
Braking and Handling:
The braking system is quite advanced and enhanced by ABS along with brake assist and electronic differential lock (EDL) . The company has fitted all the four wheels with disc brakes. It comes with anti slip regulation system that helps in handling the sedan on slippery roads. On the other hand, it has a rack and pinion based power steering system, which is tilt and telescopic adjustable. The front axle is assembled with a stabilizer along with coil spring and shock absorbers. While, the rear axle has a multi link suspension with a similar stabilizer. The car maker has given this sedan an ESC (electronic stability control) system as well.
Comfort Features:
This high end trim comes with a multifunction steering wheel, which is mounted with audio, cruise and mobile control buttons. For enhancing the ambiance of the cabin, it has a dynamic RCD 510 touchscreen audio unit along with six CD changer and eight speakers . It also has some other input options like an Aux-in socket, Bluetooth connectivity, an adapter cable for connecting some external multimedia source along with SD card reader as well. The dual zone climatronic air conditioning system along with rear AC vents helps in cooling the spacious cabin quickly. Apart from these, it is bestowed with electrically adjustable lumbar support for driver seat, paddle shift for DSG transmission, front and rear park distance control with acoustic warning and so on.
