The Power Sterring Gives Effortless Driving
Tata Bolt XE diesel Pros: Speed, Steering, Legroom, AC, service cost (maintenance). Cons: No space for water bottle, Engine sound, door noise, suspension. Door injection (door quality is good but injection is small.. so if supposed force to. open the door the inject is broken). Tata Bolt XE Diesel is the most talked-about hatchback in the diesel version lately. Though Tata has made it a point to launch back to back cars recently, diesel vehicle is something that the Indian consumers have been looking out for. Being budget-oriented and with a keen eye on the mileage, the Indian consumers have a lot of expectations from this model from Tata Motors. It delivers a whooping 23kmpl on highways and 19 kmpl on city streets. Tata Motors have always done well in terms of diesel engines and have provided the Indian consumers with a good mileage Tata Bolt XE Diesel Performance and Handling This vehicle is a good performer both on highways and city streets. It is equipped with a good mechanism with Dual-path McPherson strut with coil spring and anti-roll bar in the front and Twist beam with coil spring and shock absorber in the rear. The power steering ensures effortless driving.

A nice car at this price point
It is my first ever car. Actually, I drove only a Santro before this new car, that too for few hours. So, I don't know what other cars can offer. But, in my view, the car is roomy (as a co-passenger) fun to drive. Although, I had some issues with the engine sound (bit louder for 2 times in one year), and the service people fixed it in one visit. I guess these things are normal. Apart from this, its truly a highway car, you don't feel like driving a hatch back (as per my friend, who is an experienced driver). Actually, one of my other friends thought I am making a mistake when I decided to go with this car. It is only after he drove this during a 3-4 days road trip he actually appreciated the performance. Pros: Nice infotainment system, extendable boot, good mileage (I usually get ~20 KMPL in highways, i usually drive in the range 80-100 km/h in highway, good leg room to rear passangers, 3 can comfortably sit, multi driving modes. Cons: I didn't like the rear design, the tail lamps should have been much better. They are very small compared to the width, gear shifting not so smooth. Overall: Its a value for money car.

Tata Bolt - Value for money & very reliable
From the days of the ubiquitous INDICA, the Tata design team has come a long way. Tata Bolt, a precursor to Tata Tigor, Tiago, Hexa, Tata BOLT, was definitely an unmatched offering from an Indian Car Manufacturer. In its segment, it offers more value for many as against its competition in the Hatch Back segment. I own three cars from my daily business runs - A SKODA Rapid, a NISSAN Micra and a TATA Bolt. I travel over 250 KMs daily in any one of these car but mostly on the Highway and very little in the congested city Traffic. Though SKODA rapid is in a different segment altogether, and is pricy, it does laRtn. Professor E.I Ravindranathck a few features that the Bolt offers. As I write this review, I have already done close 55000 KMS in the last 16 months of my ownership of the Bolt. It has met and exceeded all my expectations. As a serious user of the car, with over a lakh KMS of travel by road every year, and being a good driver myself with a eye for the performance factors of any car, I can say that this car is definitely an excellent car, but has not yet caught the imagination of the buyers in the Hatchback Segment, that it very rightly deserves. Having said this, let me give my impressions about the car. The Engine is truly remarkable and has never let me down even once. It is a beauty. It gives enough and more pick-up for its 1248 CC Diesel engine, and reach a comfortable speeds of 120 KM on the highway. No doubt, it does feel wanting in power beyond this limit. The gear ratios are good and the pick-up torque is more than sufficient for most drivers. The mileage that I get with the AC on all the time and on the highway, at an average speed of above 90 KMS, is about 17.4 KMS/ Litre of diesel. If you can run consistently at about 1900 RPM the mileage that I could get was about 20.5 KMS to a litre. SKODA Rapid with its 1499 CC Engine gives me close 19.0 KMS to a litre. The body shape reminds you still of the INDICA lines. If you disregard the close semblance, the lines and shape of this car is as good as you can appreciate. The paint work has improved in all TATA Cars. The fit-and-finish, has some room to improve on the body works. Some vibrations are discernible. Drive and handling is one area, that I have not found any complaint at all. My drivers also find this car very good to drive long-distances in.The EPAS and the ergonomics and the view of the road from the driver's seat, the ORVM, and the gear shift is as good as it can be. The ground clearance is really very good in any TATA Car and BOLT stands up to this expectation. With about 55000 KMS, I have had to change the 4 tyres very recently and the tyre-wear was well within my expectations. The interior of the BOLT is good as any of the rest for this price-point in this segment. Nothing great, nevertheless, nothing substandard either. The quality of plastics used inside the cabin has undergone a sea-change. The piano key black touch all along the dashboard is really good. The controls are well placed. The Connect Next and the Audio system is very good with remote control. The bluetooth connectivity and the configurable settings for the electronic features are good for the discerning users. The AC is simply superp. Compared to any other car in this segment, the AC and the climate control settings are definitely way ahead of what is normally found in the competitive cars. The BOLT is definitely spacious and the legroom for the rear passengers are quite reasonable and adequate, almost similar to the spacious INDICA VISTA. The Safety features have not been fully tested in my experience so far, and thankfully so. The ABS and EBD are nowadays standard at this price point. But the Cornering/ Traction Control, is a highpoint of this car and it does precisely what it is meant to do - give you a better control over high-speed cornering and reducing the body roll - Not that the size of this car would have any great body roll, yet this Cornering control does kick-in when needed. That is an assurance in safety. The Dual AIrbags that come with this model, is ample for a hatchback. TATA has definitely an edge in terms of designed seriousness about passenger and vehicle safety. Coming to the Service Quality, TATA needs to improve a lot. Much of the image makeover that TATA attempts to make both through great design changes, packages filled with excellent features, good pricing and improved advertising, will be eroded if the Service Quality at the Dealer level is not taken to a different level. If service quality had been the only criteria in my list, I would have preferred NISSAN or a SUZUKI car. More than anything else, the customers are pissed off by the way they are treated in any TATA dealership and that is one big handicap that affects the volumes for this great car manufacturer. Rtn. Professor E.I RavindranathI have wonderful experience with the NISSAN service and it is definitely way ahead of Gurudev Motors for my SKODA and SAYAR motors (the local dealer) for this TATA. Though the cost of maintenance is one half of what I pay per KM as compared to SKODA maintenance costs, the treatment meted out to customers in a TATA dealership ends at a good note by the time the sales pitch is over. NISSAN on the other hand, seems to check all the right boxes when it comes to service quality. Comparison is meant purely as a challenge for improvement. The cost of spares of any TATA product is very reasonable, as is with Suzuki spares. Maintenance costs of usage (with my high usage), comes to less than 40 paise per KM and the tyre wear cost come to close 27 paise per KM of travel. With about 17.1 KM to a litre of diesel the overall running costs are extremely economical compared to the other two brands that I own.

BEST premium HATCHBACK IN its segment
Rather than calling a hatch back ..I prefer to call it a suv ..because the appearance of its topend is comparable to any compact SUV when standing side by side..and the ride on highways justifies it better.....believe me ..if you drive it on highways..it will really give you the pleasure of a compact SUV...because of its bulky...and muscular appearance..if you adjust its seat height to maximum...you can feel the height comfort of an suv...mileage in diesel is commendable...I m getting a mileage of 19-20 in city (18-19) with ac ...and 23-24 on highways...with ac.....service is very pocket friendly......I was not confident about TATA's image before buying..but now I appreciate my decision of purchasing it....as the new designs are being done by Jaguar and Land Rover engineers...after Tata fully took control of it........really love this car....it'd unbeatable ..

Best Value for Money is Tata Bolt Revotron- XMS
Why it's best buy ? Best Power Figure 90 PS Approx & Best Torque 140 Nm- Closer to Diesel Engines (has turbocharger- rare for economical petrol cars) 3 power options :- You can use any of them as u like using ur brain or without using ur brain, say chose ECO for mileage when fuel is less or u r going long distance, chose 'SPORTS' for full power & pick up or 'CITY' for a balance of both. Dual Airbags, ABS are great safety add-ons & must have for safe & intelligent owners. They are one step to ensure you don't need to claim life insurance :) It's a heavy car so is more planted & secure compared to other light & popular & most selling cars of same category. Those light cars look faster while have less power & torque, just coz their metal sheets are light & prone to more damage. Bolt is heavy & powerful both, so mileage is bit less (+- 1-2 km/ltr than others) . For smart & intelligent people, their life & safety of their loved ones is definitely not cheaper than petrol or diesel. Music player is best under the cars worth even 8-10 lakhs. It is spacious than many best sellers. Looks premium from out & inside (in dark grey color with chromes & in white & mouse color too). It's selling less in the market so gives you unique car feel & exclusivity. You are not having a common car every other person has & then it has better features, safety, engine - the key things & unique looks- not so common. Tata's service is awsum these days, you will be getting follow up calls, free car check-up, wash camps & even movie tickets at times. Cost of service is less & service is required at 15000 km, so less hassle. They will make you free in couple of hours. 2-3 follow calls from different customer care centers ensure you had good experience. It's an Indian product so somewhere patriots have another way & reason to express themselves by buying indigenous car but i.e. not the only good reason. Coz the facts are already shared & make it value for money. Only drawback is that boot is smaller but still bigger than most selling car of this segment, few cubby holes inside the car for water bottles which has to be placed in big glovebox or behind the seat covers. Mileage is less in city & sports mode but then in eco mode you can increase it by reducing power at your will. If you drive it in 5th gear at highways around 45-55 km/hr you can get 18-21 kmpl from petrol car in ECO mode or even more if less clutch, break is used. City mileage is around 12 kmpl on frequent lights /stops/turns in "CITY Mode". ECO Mode will give 13kmpl or more. Sports will give 11 kmpl but acceleration is like sedan class (which are 2-3 lakhs costlier). The reason for less city mileage is shorter 1,2,3 gears which give you acceleration like costly cars (2-3 lakhs up the bracket) even after being a heavy car (150-200 kg heavy than most selling cars). But 4th & 5th are taller so acceleration is less but mileage improves hugely in these gears. I have got mileage of 20 kmpl in eco from Chandigarh to Delhi in early morning hours & 17.5 kmpl (approx) from Delhi/NCR-Ghaziabaad to Chandigarh (260 kms) in peak traffic hours n highways. From Chandigarh to Uttarakhand ( 340 km one way & 160 km full hilly road) i got mileage of 13.5 kmpl in city mode. I haven't breached speed of 100 km/hour in entire journey's as car was new & so was the driver :). We had done less than 1000 Kms together at the time of Delhi Trip & 2000 kms at the time of Uttarakhand trip. Most of the time car was driven within 20-90 km/hour range (hilly & plain terrain).
