Like the first-gen M-Class which debuted in the 1997 - The Lost World: Jurassic Park, the new first-ever Coupe version of the GLE-Class, which indeed is replacing the M-Class altogether, will also make its theatrical debut in the fourth installment of the franchise - Jurassic World
Getting their products to feature in some high-end movie is putting manufacturers to their toes nowadays, as it is turning out to be the biggest marketing gimmick to flaunt new products with all the co-promotional packaging stuff along with the movie. This thing - cars+movies has been in Hollywood ever since, however, in recent years it has become more popular compared to preceding decades. Now back to where we started, Mercedes and Jurassic park, the first generation of M-Class was featured in the 1997 Jurassic Park 'The Lost World' before it even made its public launch. Indeed, they are repeating the history, the GLE-Class which will replace the M-Class this year, the new coupe version of the same will be featured in the fourth installment of the series before its official sale!
Thinking of the plot of the latest Jurassic World flick? Yup, it is crystal clear from the trailers (below) that it’s always about a failed amusement park with Dinosaurs going rogue! We are told that in this fourth installment, Jurassic World (name of the new theme park in the movie) operations manager Claire, played by Bryce Dallas Howard drives the new GLE 450 AMG Coupe.
Now, like the rest of the three movies when things went haywire, this Clair lady needs help and for this, she goes to Owen, a behavioral researcher, played by Chris Pratt. This guy Owen drives the big daddy of all the three-pointed star automaker's SUVs - the mighty G-Class.
Apart from these in the trailer we see very rare tarmac shattering G 63 6x6 AMG along with heavily modded Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van. This movie also has a dinosaur ambulance - how cool is that! And this Ambulance is also a Mercedes vehicle - their medium truck - Unimog.
The movie producer Frank Marshall said, “The fleet of Mercedes Benz vehicles fit perfectly into Jurassic World. They are classy, sophisticated, and sexy — exactly what would exist in a modern international theme park."
They are saying that Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe suits well to the new age modern park. And we don't doubt that either as its beasty 2996 cc six banger direct-injected AMG motor, sucks air from its twin turbos and growls through the dense forests of Isla Nublar (remember this island from previous movies?).
The engine feeds 362 horses and 520 Nm of max twist to all the four wheels through Mercs 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission. The company says torque is distributed in a 40:60 front and rear ratio with its 4MATIC permanent all-wheel-drive setup.
