It's been only four months that Maruti Suzuki launched the all new Alto 800 in India, and it has already set several milestones. Within a week's time of its launch, it set a record by touching the 21,000 booking mark, it has also been selling around 25,000 units of Alto every month. And now it has set yet another milestone by selling over 1 lakh units within 124 days of its launch. One lakh is the number that most automakers based out of India are not selling even annually, which proves MSI's dominance in the Indian car market.
Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 replaced the legendary Alto, which was India's top selling brand, and Alto 800 has only taken the legacy forward of the brand. Hyundai Eon and Chevrolet Spark are two major rivals against the Alto 800, which in totality are not even selling half of what Alto sells every month.
The new Alto 800 has got a little more spacious than the earlier version of Alto, in fact the fuel efficiency of the new version too has been improved by 15 per cent. The company also sells the CNG version in India, which returns a whooping 30kmpl mileage.
MSI which has been selling the brand Alto for over 10 years has now completely revamped its design both inside and out, helping it look modern and attractive, however the platform and the engine options have been kept the same. As mentioned above, dimension wise the car has got bigger, it now has more head, leg and shoulder room
