10 New Features Offered On The Tata Nexon Facelift

Update (14/09/2023): The Tata Nexon facelift has finally been launched, with introductory prices starting at Rs 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Nexon facelift new features

The Tata Nexon facelift has officially debuted ahead of its market entry in mid-September 2023. With the update, the Tata SUV has received a whole lot of design and feature upgrades. In this story, let’s check out the top 10 new features that will be part of the new Nexon’s equipment list:

Six Airbags

Tata has fitted the Nexon facelift with six airbags as standard. The updated SUV also comes with electronic stability program (ESP), 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and hill-hold assist as standard.

10.25-inch Touchscreen

The Indian carmaker debuted its new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the Tata Harrier and Safari. It was then offered on the Tata Nexon EV Max Dark edition, and now the carmaker introduced the bigger unit on the facelifted Nexon. Tata has rolled out this feature on the higher-specced Creative and Fearless trims of its updated sub-4m SUV.

JBL Sound System

The new Nexon comes with a 9-speaker JBL sound system, including four tweeters and a subwoofer. Tata is offering it only on the fully loaded Fearless+S variant of the new model with the automatic transmission.

A 7-speed DCT Option

While Tata has continued with the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options on the Nexon, it has now introduced a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) with the former. Apart from the new gearbox, the petrol unit will also get a choice of 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT.

LED Lighting All-around

Tata is providing the new Nexon with all-LED lighting, a first for the carmaker. The updated sub-4m SUV gets vertically stacked LED projector headlights with LED DRLs and dynamic turn indicators. Tata is also offering it with connected LED taillights with the farewell sequence.

Touch-based Panel For Climate Controls

One of the major updates that’s come inside the SUV’s cabin is the inclusion of a touch-based panel for auto climate controls. It is available from the Creative trim onwards. Controls for the fan speed and temperature still get physical toggle switches.

360-degree Camera

The Tata Nexon now also gets a 360-degree camera, which is limited to its higher-spec Creative and Fearless trims. The carmaker has now also equipped the SUV with a blind spot monitor, which, like the 360-degree camera, is only available on the higher variants.

Fully Digital Driver’s Display

Tata has given the new Nexon a proper 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, reserved for the top-spec Fearless trim. It can even display map navigation, as seen on luxury cars.

Height-adjustable Co-driver Seat

The Nexon now also comes with height adjustment for both the front seats. Tata offers this comfort and convenience feature for the driver seat right from the entry-level Smart variant. It already came with ventilated front seats.

Front Parking Sensors

Another new safety feature that’s been given to the Nexon is the front parking sensors. Like some of the new features mentioned above, even this safety technology is available only on the higher-spec Creative and Fearless trims.

Tata Nexon facelift

Tata will launch Nexon facelift on September 14, with prices likely to start at a little over Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will continue to go up against the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300 and the Maruti Fronx crossover.
