2012 Honda CR-V, more details revealed

The 2012 Honda CR-V will first go on sale in U.S and then the revamped SUV will be unwrapped in India. Apparently, the new version of 2012 Honda C-V is veered from the outgoing model and falls more in line with the concept SUV showcased earlier this year. 2012 Honda CR-V price is still under the wraps and there is no inkling of it. The first noticeable change is the size, which looks majestic with the overgrown dimensions from the current model.

The car exteriors look more distinct with the redesigned grille in the front and the bumper in accordance with it. The headlights give sharper edge to the car. As we get into the interiors, the layout is designed to offer more space with enough room in all three rows for a comfortable seating arrangement for 7 passengers. The dashboard is quite impressive with minimum number of buttons well-laid out to render an immaculate picture. The three spoke power steering is endowed with the audio and navigation controls to aid the driver while concentrating on the road ahead. Two display screen are proffered in the car, one to keep track of the entertainment system and the other for the navigation purpose.

Apart from the four-wheel drive automatic version, a manual gearbox option and front-wheel drive options should be included. The USA-bound 2012 Honda CR-V has a 2.4 L petrol engine to power the unit, while another engine option of 2.6 L petrol engine was also reported earlier. The auto major will include a diesel engine option for the European and the India-bound SUV. As it is observed, the new CR-V plans are quite intact, despite the recent floods in Thailand affecting the key production unit of Honda Motors. The Japanese auto major has decided to go ahead with their plans despite the severe auto components shortage.  But, it is the 2012 Honda City launch plans which are slightly disturbed postponing it to 2012 Indian Auto Expo.
