The wait for the 2013 Honda CR-V finally comes to an end, Honda Cars India has today rolled out the next generation Honda CR-V at a starting price of Rs 19.95 (ex-showroom), which is about 3 lakh cheaper than the outgoing model. And Like we reported yesterday, the new age CR-V has come out in a total four variants- 2.0 MT, 2.0 AT, 2.4 AT 4WD and 2.4 AT 4WD AVN that are priced at Rs 19.95 lakh, Rs 20.85 lakh, Rs 22.40 lakh and Rs. 23.85 lakh (prices are ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. Out of four variants, two sport a 2.0-litre engine and other two an even more powerful 2.4-litre petrol engine, however diesel engine still could not make it to India, and we aren't expecting that to come any time before 2014.
While the 2.0-litre powered CR-V sport two transmission option- a six-speed simple shift stick and a five-speed automatic box, the 2.4-litre carries only the five-speed self-shifting box with flappy paddles, which transfer power to all the four wheels. The two variants that carry the 2.4-litre engine only have one major difference, which is the availability of Audio Video Navigation (AVN) on one and not on the other. The AVN integrates a 5-inch touch-sensitive screen and supports audio, video, navigation and reverse parking camera. The 2.4-litre Honda CR-V also gets HIDs with Washer, while the 2.0-litre trims have halogen lamps.
In terms of features, the Honda CR-V has got a lot to offer to its customers, the standard features on all the trims are leather upholstery, multi information display with ECO assist, 17-inch alloy wheels, electric driver's seat, Econ mode, keyless entry and a few more.
The 2013 Honda CR-V has unquestionably got better in features than its predecessor. It now gets shorter and lesser in length, has more assertive and aerodynamic stance with a bolder nose section and horizontal three-bar grille and deep-set headlights at the front. So on the whole, the car has become more compact, aggressive and stylish, something that the world demands today.
