South Korean car maker, Hyundai that showcased the 2013 Santa Fe at the 2012 LA auto show is now planning to showcase the vehicle at the Geneva Motor Show, next month. What makes this news so relevant for the Indian market is the fact that Hyundai India too is planning to launch the new generation Santa Fe in India replacing the existing version.
The Premium SUV Santa Fe that failed to lure buyers in India, has now received the company's patented fluidic sculpture and is expected to do better this time around. And the company's so successful track record with Fluidic designed generation of its vehicles is not a hidden fact, Hyundai Elantra Fluidic is one such latest example that took the vehicle from nowhere to the top slot in its segment.
However nothing on the India-bound version of the Santa Fe has been revealed by the company, we expect it to get a 2.2-litre CRDi engine that has the capability to churn out the maximum power output of 197bhp. Like most its competitors, the India bound Santa fe might come in both manual and automatic transmission versions.
Receiving the Fluidic treatment, 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe now certainly has become great at looks, while inside the cabin as well it gets an all new dashboard design, and the material used for the interior is now much premium, plusher and better than before. Moreover, the car might also feature a 18 or 19 inch alloy wheels, a new grille, front bumper, fog lights and a few other changes, making it look more aggressive.
The company hasn't also revealed the launch plans of the car as of now, we are expecting it to hit the Indian shores by the second or third quarter of 2013. Check out the space for all the latest updates on the same.
