Japanese car maker, Nissan is now working on a mid-life facelift of its flagship hatchback Micra, which is being sold globally. And the first clear images of the facelifted Micra has now hit the interweb, the car was spotted in Thailand by a Thailand based auto portal Pulsar-Club.
One thing that we personally liked about the car is redesigned front fascia, which has made the car look muscular. While the existing version of the vehicle looks very feminine, receiving the new air dam, a new front bumper, new grille and revised headlights the 2013 Nissan Micra looks aggressive and sportier.
The 2013 Nissan Micra also gets revised tail lamps and a new rear bumper, however side profile of the car looks similar to the existing generation Micra. However nothing on the facelifted Nissan Micra has been disclosed by the company as of now, but the images were caught during a photo shoot of the car at Thailand, indicating that the launch is very close. Here in India as well, Nissan has been testing a new Micra, and there will also be a price cut version of the vehicle in India to target entry level hatchback buyers.
Nissan India is also considering to launch a CVT automatic version of the Micra to compete against the likes of Honda Brio automatic, Maruti Suzuki Ritz AT and others in the league. The facelifted Nissan Micra is likely to retain the similar 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre K9K turbo diesel engines, however there might be some additional features on offer as the car lacks in some important safety features like ABS+EBD, front passenger airbag and some others. Only the top-end petrol variant XV has all the aforementioned features on offer.
