After showcasing Yeti's new avatar at the Delhi Auto Expo early this year, Czech carmaker Skoda will be launching it very soon in the Indian market. The potent SUV was introduced few years back, but unfortunately this fantastically built product failed to lure a good number of buyers.
So till the time our detailed review for the new Yeti comes, here is a brief over the facelift.
Changes Inside-Out :
In terms of design, the facelift gets plenty of minor tweaks which makes the SUV look fresh, though the overall silhouette remains similar. New front and rear bumpers, bi-xenon headlights, new fog lamps, LED taillamps, new housings for the wing mirrors and good-looking alloys are some of the prominent changes included in the facelift. Yeti will be offered in seven body and three roof colors.
Story on the inside is very much similar to the earlier model. Except the Octavia's sporty steering wheel, no prominent change can be witnessed by your eyes. While there are some minor additions given to the cabin, including keyless entry, climate control, premium leather upholstery and leather-wrapped steering wheel, electrically-foldable side view mirrors and an updated music system with eight-speakers on-board.
Safety Features:
Being a true Skoda, Yeti comes with sturdy built quality and equipped with ample safety features. The list of safety features includes eight airbags as standard, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD(Electronic Brake Distribution), advanced brake assist, traction control, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), hill assist as-well-as hill descent control and various others.
Powertrain:
Mechanically, the facelift is identical to the predecessor. Powered by the same 2.0-litre TDI motor, available in two state of tunes. The two-wheel drive variant puts out 108.5bhp, while the AWD offers 138bhp.
Variants:
To be offered in both AWD(All Wheel Drive) and FWD(Front Wheel Drive) options, the new Yeti will be available in a single top-end 'Elegance' trim.
