Ford’s flagship SUV continues to get the same engine options as before - a 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre diesel engine. The former is a 4-cylinder motor and produces 160PS of power and 385Nm of torque while the 3.2-litre motor packs five cylinders and churns out 200PS of power and 470Nm of torque. Notably, Ford has reintroduced its 6-speed manual transmission, which can now be had with the smaller engine. Those looking for an automatic option can pick either engine choices as both are available with a 6-speed AT. Ford claims the 2.2-litre engine returns 14.2kmpl with the manual gearbox and 12.62kmpl with the 3.2-litre automatic.
As far as the cosmetic updates are concerned, they are quite subtle in nature. The new Ford Endeavour gets a tweaked front grille with three slim slats in place of two thick ones seen earlier. Other changes include HID headlamps with a smoked effect and a slightly reworked front bumper. There’s also new 18-inch alloy wheels as well as LED inserts within the tail lamps as well.
The pre-facelift Ford Endeavour was quite feature-loaded and the new one continues to be so. The only new additions are the push-button start/stop button and a hands-free tailgate. Features like the auto HID headlamps with LED DRLs, rain-sensing wiper, active noise cancellation, leather upholstery, dual zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, semi-parallel parking assist and the 8-inch touchscreen SYNC3 infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as the 10 speaker sound system have been carried over from the older version.
Safety features include seven airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill descent and ascent control as well as a rearview camera with front and rear parking sensors.
Ford India has announced a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty for the 2019 Endeavour. The carmaker claims that the new Endeavour has a service cost of 68 paise per km for the 2.2-litre version and 71 paise for the one powered by the 3.2-litre motor. The 2019 Endeavour renews its rivalry with the Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X and the Mahindra Alturas G4. It also competes with monocoque SUVs like the Skoda Kodiaq and the Volkswagen Tiguan on the price chart.
