What’s new with the facelifted X5?
The 2023 X5 will be recognised by the revised front fascia that now features vertically-oriented air intakes on the new front bumper. The main grille gets bigger and now gets the illuminating glow, while the LED headlamps flaking it are now sleeker with a new light signature. Around the back, the only notable design change is the redesigned layout for the LED taillamps. The luxury SUV still gets cladding along the bottom edge with prominent rear skid plates for a somewhat rugged appeal.
The M Sport variant gets blacked out elements around the exterior instead of silver details for a sportier look.
For the buyers, the biggest change will be inside the cabin. The facelifted X5 will get the current BMW dashboard with the curved integrated dual displays - 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. It now also comes with an ambient lighting bar around the dashboard for the front passenger area.
New X5 Powertrains
The BMW X5 still comes with 3-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engines, but they’ve been updated with 48V mild-hybrid tech and increased performance. Their details are specified below:

Still Feature-rich
The BMW X5 is fairly well-equipped with features like a panoramic glass roof, active seat ventilation, electrically adjustable front seats, and a powered split-tailgate in the top variant. The xLine trim gets Sensafin upholstery while the M Sport gets a choice of brown or white leather upholstery. As standard, the new X5 rides on 21-inch alloys with different designs depening on the variant.
It comes with adaptive suspension as standard but only the M Sport gets air suspension for a plush ride quality. In terms of safety, the BMW X5 comes with six airbags, dynamic stability control, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitor, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and Active Park assist.
Rivals
The BMW X5 facelift will compete against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Volvo XC90, Range Rover Velar and the Audi Q7.
