Both of these electric origin SUVs are based on the all-new INGLO architecture
We are about to witness the grand launch of two all-new electric-origin SUVs from Mahindra – the XEV 9e and BE 6e – on November 26 at the 'Unlimit India' event in Chennai. These eSUVs will not only revolutionise the Indian automotive space, but they will also establish India as an automotive powerhouse to watch in the near future. Here are 5 reasons why you should be excited about these upcoming eSUVs from Mahindra.
Built From The Ground Up
To be launched under the ‘Unlimit India’ theme, both XEV 9e and BE 6e are exclusively under Mahindra’s new electric brands. Mahindra has partnered with over 250 global partners to bring the best of the best global technology to our country. Thanks to the new INLGO electric origin architecture, which features the industry’s lightest flat-floor skateboard structure, these eSUVs are likely to offer a generous cabin experience, enhanced comfort, a large boot, and ample space to accommodate high-performance electric motors.
Both of these eSUVs will have an advanced structural design that integrates the battery pack into the underbody, forming a protective cage around the passenger cabin. The INGLO electric origin architecture uses ultra-high-strength boron steel and reinforced frontal structures designed to withstand high impact crashes. This will give passengers a sense of safety and confidence.
A Class Apart Design
The XEV 9e and BE 6e electric SUV coupes have a coupe-SUV roofline and closely resemble their concept versions, as shown in teasers. The BE 6e looks sharp with a pointed bonnet, C-shaped LED DRLs, and a slim bumper. The XEV 9e, on other hand, gets inverted L-shaped connected LED DRLs and connected LED tail lights.
Futuristic Cabin
We've already caught glimpses of the interiors of the XEV 9e and BE 6e eSUVs through the latest teasers. The XEV 9e will feature a triple-screen setup (including a digital driver’s display, touchscreen, and passenger display), while the BE 6e will come with dual integrated screens. Both models also boast a 2-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logos and a panoramic sunroof.
Advance Features
Both of these electric-origin SUVs are expected to come with features that will not only be a segment first but also include high-end technologies typically found in SUVs costing up to Rs 1 crore. In addition to the integrated screen setups, these eSUVs are also likely to offer a premium sound system and advanced connected car features, many of which are already available in the existing Mahindra XUV700.
The XEV 9e and BE 6e are also expected to offer top notch safety, not only with the robust build quality but also with advanced safety features like multiple airbags, 360-degree camera, ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).
Class Leading Performance And Range
These new electric origin SUVs from Mahindra will be offered with two battery pack options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. These battery packs are made up of LFP chemistry and feature standardised cell-to-pack technology to ensure durability, safety, and long-term reliability. As per Mahindra, both of these battery packs will support up to 175 kW of DC fast-charging which can rejuvenate these batteries from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. Thanks to the intelligent battery and thermal management system, these batteries maintain optimal performance and sustained driving range over numerous charge cycles. We can expect the batteries to offer a claimed range of 450 km to 500 km in a single charge.
To further enhance the stability of these eSUVs, the battery pack has been placed at a low centre of gravity. The battery setup will be paired with a compact three-in-one powertrain, integrating motor, inverter, and transmission, offering remarkable performance, with outputs of 231 PS to 285 PS for rear-wheel drives. The handling will be further enhanced by a semi-active suspension system and brake-by-wire technology.
So these were the 5 reasons why you should be excited about the upcoming electric origin SUVs, the Mahindra XEV 9e and Mahindra BE 6e, set to make their global debut soon. Stay tuned to CarDekho for more updates on these new eSUVs, and follow our WhatsApp channel.
