Adding Whats Been Missing; 2016 Jaguar F Type to get All Wheel Drive & Manual Transmission Options

The 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE will receive some major updates and top on the list is the addition of Instinctive All Wheel Drive (AWD) as standard feature on R models and an option on S models. The company is also adding which is been missing for a long time- Yes! the six-speed manual transmission available on Rear-Wheel Drive V6-powered models, and Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS).

Even in the updated 2016 Jaguar, the fundamentals such as lightweight construction, refined power, perfect proportions and outstanding design remains unchanged. The big addition comes in the name of six-speed manual transmission which is now exclusively available for V6 and rear-wheel drive (RWD) configuration. The F-TYPE also becomes the first Jaguar sports car to use Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS).

Inside the cabin, the car embraces new dials and gauges. The infotainment system has been upgraded, and the F-TYPE now features InControl Remote, InControl Protect and InControl Apps 3 connectivity and telematics functions.

The 2016 F-TYPE will also feature top-spec 770W Meridian surround sound audio system, SiriusXM Satellite Radio & HD Radio, Jaguar Smart Key Keyless entry and 14-way fully power-adjustable seats. Coupe models also receive the panoramic glass roof as standard, while the R Coupe models receive a power tailgate as standard. On S models, standard equipment now includes Configurable Dynamic Mode1, a flat-bottomed racing-style steering wheel and the driver-selectable Switchable Active Exhaust. 

Mechanically, F-TYPE R Coupe and F-TYPE R Convertible houses Supercharged V8 engine, both producing a power of 550 hp @ 6500rpm and peak torque of 680Nm @ 2,500- 5,500 rpm. The engines are mated to Eight-speed 'QuickShift which ensures the All Wheel Drive. The Coupe and Convertible can achieve 0 to 100kmph in mere 3.2 seconds with top speed of 299kmph. While the 6-speed ZF  manual transmission is available in F-TYPE Coupe, F-TYPE Convertible, F-TYPE S Coupe and F-TYPE S Convertible along with Auto: Eight-speed 'QuickShift'.  All the manual model carry Supercharged V6 engine that musters a max power of 340 hp @ 6,500rpm and torque of 450Nm @ 3,500-5,000.
