Audi India launched the new 2013 Audi R8 in January 2013 in a total three variants- R8 V8 coupe, R8 V10 coupe and R8 V10 Spyder, priced at Rs 1.34 crore, 1.57 crore and 1.73 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi) respectively. And now the company is planning to launch the top of the line Audi R V10 Plus variant in India, possibly on April 4, 2013 at the famous Buddh International Circuit (Noida).
The engine to be fitted in the car is the similar Lamborghini sourced 5.2-litre V10, which also does its duty to the R8 Spyder and the R8 V10 Coupe, however it has been tuned for more power in the V10 plus variants. The engine now promises to return a whooping 550bhp and a peak torque of 540Nm, making it 25bhp and 10Nm more powerful than the R8 Spyder and V10 coupe. Mated to a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox, the V10 Plus has the capability to touch the 0-100kmph mark in mere 3.5 seconds with a peak speed of 317kmph.
At the time of Audi R8 V10 Coupe's launch in India, it was priced at Rs 1.57 crore, but due to hike in import duties, the vehicle now costs around Rs 1.81 crore. So we, are expecting the new top-of the line R8 V10 plus should cost around Rs 2 crore.
Audi has recently released a video of the new R8 V10 Plus supercar which allows viewers to see its high-performance 550bhp engine in action- and hear it roar. And the video has already been viewed over 7 lakh times since it went live.
Speaking about the virality the new Audi R8 V10 Video has created on youtube, Kristian Dean, National Communications Manager says, "The new Audi R8 V10 plus pushes boundaries in terms of performance and innovation. The use of Blippar technology allows people to interact immediately with the car, and get under its bonnet in a way they simply would not be able to do with a 2D advertisement alone. The new video content gives car enthusiasts the opportunity to hear the R8 V10 plus being taken to the red line,"
"Augmented reality opens up a whole new world of marketing potential, and will only become more exciting as more brands embrace apps such as Blippar. Audi is proud to be one of the first major brands to utilise this new technology - an approach in keeping with the company philosophy of Vorsprung durch Technik."
