BMW India ranks No. One in luxury car segment once again

BMW India, the premium luxury car maker has achieved the highest sales mark ever achieved in the Indian luxury car segment in 2010. The German luxury car maker's Indian arm last year registered a growth of 73 per cent in sales. With such a growth BMW India now covers more than 40 per cent of share in the luxury car market. Last year, BMW India rolled out 6246 cars to the Indian customers and is now the leader in the luxury car segment in India for the second time in a row.

BMW India had an excellent 2010 in terms of sales. The sales figures are as follows. BMW 3 Series 2432 cars, BMW 5 Series 2403 cars, BMW 7 Series 535 cars, BMW X1 series 187 cars, BMW X3 series 28 cars, BMW X5 series 228 cars, BMW X6 series 189 cars, BMW Z4 82 car models and BMW Gran Turismo 150 cars were rolled out this year.

Dr Andreas Schaaf, the President, BMW India said that for the domestic auto market BMW India has made a new strategy to capture the growing luxury car segment. Last year, the company officials started working in the second phase of its strategy in Indian auto market with skillfully planned and rightly executed strategy. He added in raise of the company's employees that he is greatly impressed with the company's foresightedness, the expertise and ability to accept new challenges. He also mentioned about the dealers and said that this growth can also be credited to the dealers.

BMW India registered growth of 73 per cent last year, BMW 3 Series grew more than 111 per cent, the all new BMW 5 Series to 51 per cent and the BMW 7 Series to 53 per cent.

Mr Schaaf also said that the company believes in serving luxury to the car lovers appetite which are true creative assets with future advancement. The cars designed for future and will take the luxury car maker to a new ladder of success. BMW the luxury car manufacturer's BMW 3 Series, the ew BMW 5 Series, the BMW 7 Series and the recently launched BMW X1 are the well know cars from the brands portfolio. With the last year's excellent sales figures BMW was able to capture more than 40 per cent of the luxury car market of India.

BMW Group in India to cement its current position established its new headquarters in Gurgaon, warehouse in Mumbai and a manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu. At present, in the Chennai manufacturing plant produces BMW 3 Series, the BMW 5 Series and all new BMW X1 in diesel and petro version and can manufacture 8000 cars every year on a single shift. BMW in India has 20 dealers and service networks.
