BMW launched limited edition Gran Turismo in Bangalore

BMW India, a 100% owned subsidiary of Germany based BMW, launched a limited addition of BMW Gran Turismo model in Bangalore. The Gran Turismo model has been priced at Rs 63 lakh in the city. The limited addition Gran Turismo is powered with a 3.01 litre engine and the it will be imported in India as a completely built-up unit (CBU) from company's overseas facility.
BMW is also planning to launch a pre-owned car business in India with its exclusive stores in Delhi-NCR. Currently company has a market share of 41% in the luxury car segment in India and it is all set to increase its market share by enhancing the dealership base from current 12 dealerships to 22 dealership in the country.
Besides the launch of the Gran Turismo model in India the company has also revealed its plans of bringing BMW X1 model in India. According to the company it will bring BMW X1 in India by the end of this year as a Completely Knocked-down Unit (CKD) so that it can assemble it in India and make it available at much lesser price as import of a CBU (Completely Built Unit) in India which attracts a 100% import duty.
Cars to look forward to this quarter are Ford Figo and Tata Aria that will be launched in the month of Feb and March respectively
