BMW mulls to bring 3 Series Convertible to India

According to the latest information, the German luxury brand is gearing up to introduce BMW 3 Series convertible sedan, 330d in India. The new BMW 3 Series convertible was displayed at the BMW Xperience event. The ‘coming soon’ tag line in the rear explains the probability of convertible making it to the Indian shores. BMW, so far has introduced the BMW 650i and the BMW M3 convertibles in the country, which have the fabric convertible roof. The distinction in the upcoming car is the foldable metal roof. The 330d convertible is likely to cost between Rs 39-40 lakhs.

The BMW ensures the safety and quality in the 330d by incorporating the chassis strengthening and heavy roof mechanism. A majestic 3.0 L in-line 6-cylinder turbo diesel engine is affixed in the car to churn out a peak power of 245 Bhp and 520 Nm of torque. The car accomplishes the 0-100 km in mere 6.5 seconds and is capable of attaining the top speed to 250 kmph. The 330d is the new entrant into the 3-series with the others including the most fuel economic 320d, 320i and the 330i sports sedan.

BMW is working aggressively towards expanding its stature in India. The German brand, which had launched the BMW X1 SUV recently has given an inkling on the upcoming roadster 3 Series.  The recent BMW Xperience event was to encourage the masses to experience the sheer drivability pleasure on their recently launched BMW X3 SUV apart from the BMW X5 and BMW X6 SUVs. As a part of its growth plans, BMW is said to bring its British marque Mini brand in India. Speculations are rife that the German auto major is likely to bring the entire Mini series to India. The BMW Mini is supposed to be launched in India in 2012 at Rs 25 lakhs.
