BMW to launch its X1 model in India soon

Germany based leading car maker BMW is all set to launch its new BMW X1 series model in India by the end of this year . The production of the BMW model will be done at company's Chennai plant and then it will be distributed to company's 17 dealerships all across India.
While addressing to media BMW India President Peter Kronschnabl said that, The proposed model is scheduled to be launched by the end of this year. The new model will join BMW 3 and BMW 5 series models rolled out from the Indian plant,
Besides this BMW also launched two new variants of its BMW 3 series, named as 320d corporate edition (diesel price Rs.2.3 million) and BMW 330i (petrol price Rs.3.3 million). Currently, Company has 17 dealerships spread across India and it is planning to open some new dealerships at cities like Goa, Indore and Ludhiana.
Mr Kronschnabl added that company will increase its distribution network as well as its production capacity in India as it is expacting increasing sales figures in coming months. BMW sold 3,619 units of its vehicles in year 2009 as compare to 2,908 units in year 2008, accounted for a growth of 24 percent.
