After launching M6 Gran Coupe in Indian auto market, the Bavarian manufacturer BMW is now thriving towards its new venture- the 9-Series. The car is in its concept form and is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show in China. Moreover, the manufacturer is also working on a new X7 SUV.
The 9-Series concept is expected to be based mostly on the 7-Series with the design similar to the Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe. Since the 9-Series is a class above product, it will surely possess more luxurious features than the 7-Series and will be put up against the Mercedes-Benz's best product- The S-Class. The car will also take some styling cues and modular platform design from the sibling Rolls-Royce, the one that will be used as a replacement of iconic Phantom in 2016. In coming years, if 9-Series becomes a hit, the styling cues and interiors might be used in Phantom's replacement.
For our keen readers, the Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe Concept was first unveiled in 2013 and was developed by the joint effort of BMW and Pininfarina, the Italian styling house. The concept houses a V12 engine while the performance figures were kept undisclosed. Stay tuned for the more updates on Beijing Motor Show, staring from April 20, 2014.
