The automotive grapevine is ripe with news of the BMW X1 successor. As we informed you elsewhere, BMW dealers are offering discounts of up to Rs. 4.5 lakh on the current BMW X1 model to try and sell off the old stock before the arrival of the new X1 in January. While the other luxury auto maker, Audi and Mercedes-Benz are also offering several heavy and enticing discounts on their range of cars, BMW stands at the highest amount with its current discount on X1 model.
Now we know that the new BMW X1 will be in direct competition with the Audi Q3 and the fact that it will be locally assembled in BMW's Chennai plant, will help cut back on the pricing quite a bit. Additionally, the X1 may get an engine revision in its petrol model and will have the 320i petrol with 2.0-litre turbo petrol. There is a likelihood that BMW can get the 320i also, as it will be an addition of new engine option without any additional cost. the 328i has the same engine, but with more power. The 320i will be the detuned version for the same block.
BMW also revealed at the launch of the BMW X6 that it will be increasing its prices on all range of cars by 10 per cent from the start of the year 2013.
