BMW that has recently launched the facelifted 5-Series saloon, is now all set to launch a couple of more products in the Indian car market by the end of 2014. We reported earlier that the German luxury carmaker will launch the locally assembled 3 Series GT by the early 2014. Now, the company is aiming to introduce the Z4 roadster sportscar in India in November 2013.
Under the hood, the BMW Z4 roadster gets the 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, twin-turbo engine that churns out maximum power output of 335bhp and 450Nm of top torque. The power is transmitted to rear wheels of the sportscar via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The new Z4 roadster looks very similar to that of the regular model, but there are few minor updates, making it look more rugged and aggressive. The vehicle gets a new set of LED lights, restyled front bumper, new side indicators with chrome touches and few other features.
Recently, BMW announced to invest Rs. 390 crore at its Chennai facility for adding a new assembly line, which will help the company increase its total capacity to 14,000 units a year. The firm will assemble 8 products at the facility from the current six models.
The new Z4 is likely to be priced higher than the current model, and we expect it to be tagged around Rs. 70-75 lakh. This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for more updates on the same.
