The Isuzu mu-X, which competes with the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner, comes with a 5-year comprehensive warranty and free periodic maintenance for 1.5 lakh kilometres as standard. Now, the BS4 versions are available with an extended 3-year/50,000km warranty at no extra cost. This offer is available till 31 December, 2019.
The mu-X is powered by a 3.0-litre diesel mated to a 5-speed automatic for the 4WD system. It produces 177PS and 380Nm and the powertrain can shift-on-the-fly between 2WD, 4WD and low-ratio 4WD. This engine is still in its BS4 state and Isuzu had previously announced that it will stop offering the BS4 models from January 2020. The BS6 update is expected to make the mu-X pricier by upto Rs 4 lakh.
The Isuzu mu-X is currently available with 2WD and 4WD variants which are priced at Rs 27.35 lakh and Rs 29.32 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is a more affordable offering as compared to the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4.
