It was first Diwali and now Christmas, whatever the festival be, car manufacturers leave no stone unturned to attract buyers at large scale. The big advertisement on newspapers are turning people head with attractive offers on purchase of cars. Almost all car manufacturers have added some or the other offers and schemes with their offerings which is resulting into accelerated demand in market.

Among the lucrative offers, Chevrolet, the General Motors owned company has announced a reduction of Rs 50,000 on one of its small car. Moreover Ditto Italian car brand has freebies worth Rs 55,000 on its Punto and Linea.

This is the major trend going in automobile market where all manufacturers are looking forward to bring customers to their showrooms. The offerings include all attractive techniques like freebies, cash discount, gift hampers, coins of gold and silver, scratch cards, lucky draw and many more.

The major reason behind companies giving lucrative offers it to clear their backlogged stock so that they can make enough space for upcoming January 2011 stock. This will help the car manufacturers to clean up the dealership stock so that new arrival of January 2011 can take its place.

Enjoying the season, Maruti Suzuki, India’s biggest car manufacturer has declared maximum offering of Rs 40,000 value on its Maruti SX4. On the other hand Hundai Motors is offering Rs 45,000 worth benefits on its all favourite Hyundai Verna.

The market research also suggest that because automobile companies are adding new versions to their existing models, these offers will help clear the stock in dealerships. The new versions from most of the companies will appear in early 2011.

however few companies have different view to this situation, according to P Balendran the V-P (corporate affairs) of General Motors, the company's offers and schemes has nothing top do with the stock clearance rather its a way to celebrate 100 years of the company's existence. General motors have introduced opportunity to save up to Rs 21,00 to Rs 50,000 on Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Beat. The diesel version of Chevrolet Beat will appear in markets by December 31st.

The schemes are not just limited to small cars segment but it is also followed in case of sedans and sports utility vehicles. The all famous Mahindra Scorpio is holding a discount tag of Rs 50,000. The availability of components and other raw material is getting troublesome for automobile manufacturers because of increasing prices and now with the introduction of these schemes, the companies will face stressed margins.

As per a dealer based in Mumbai, the sales targets are already achieved and thus no pressure on margin is faced. This is the perfect month to buy a car for yourself as from next month the prices will be increased in Tata Motors, Honda Siel, Toyota Kirloskar, General Motors, Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki.
