We have reported this earlier as well, that the all new Chevrolet Captiva 2012 is all set to launch, but the GM guys were looking for the best time to bring it to India. The recent launch of Chevrolet Cruze upgrade was first on the cards for GM India, which has just happened. So, the next big thing to happen for GM is the launch of Captiva facelift. A lot of speculations have been made on the launch of this much awaited facelift version; some said this to come during Diwali, some by the year end. But when we contacted to our sources at General Motors, they confirmed that the 2012 Chevrolet Captiva’s launch will take place as early as the next month, which means July.

The all new Chevrolet Captiva has been endowed with an all new 2.2-litre diesel engine with a six-speed automatic transmission replacing the older 2.0-litre VCDi engine, which had five-speed transmission. The all new Chevrolet Captiva has been said to be coming in two engine variants, one with a turbocharger and one without it.The engine with the turbocharger is proficient of producing the maximum 184 Brake horsepower and a torque of 400Nm, whereas the other engine churns out 163bhp and 350nm of torque.

In addition, the features it will come along with are cruise control, a heating ventilation and AC system for two rows (Previous version had AC vents for the first rowers only), rain-sensing wipers, an electric parking brake replacing the traditional handbrake and a sunroof. The 2012 Chevrolet Captiva will have substantial changes both in the exterior and interior as well, which turn it more appealing. This will be competing with the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra XUV500.

Stay tuned for more updates on the same.
