Whether it’s accidental repair or wear and tear, find out the real cost of owning your next car with CarDekho’s Spare Parts Analysis report

Buying a car is a one-time cost, but owning it isn’t. The price of a new car, its features, and the discounts on offer can be easily found and evaluated as opposed to the cost of owning and maintaining it. Those are things you just discover along the way. Maintenance, servicing, fender benders are costs that come up every year, if not more, and can in some cases pack a rude surprise. So we recommend you take a look at CarDekho’s Spare Part Analysis to find the right car for you.

    Number crunching

CarDekho’s Spare Part Survey has collated the prices of over 3,300 spare parts for 65 models right from the Maruti Alto to the Toyota Fortuner and everything in between. These have been categorised into three areas:

    • Accidental Repair

    • Wear And Tear

    • Service Consumables

    11 Carmakers opened up!

In a bid to ensure accuracy, we have collected these prices directly from OEMs. It was great to see all major manufacturers sharing data in the interest of creating a better experience for you, the customer.

    1. Maruti

    2. Hyundai

    3. Tata

    4. Mahindra

    5. Honda

    6. Toyota

    7. Ford

    8. Volkswagen

    9. Skoda

    10. Renault

    11. MG Motor

It is disappointing that Kia Motor India chose not to be a part of the survey. Nissan and Datsun shared insufficient spare parts price data for their models and could not be included in the analysis. Hence, parts and service prices of the Kia Seltos, Datsun RediGo and Nissan Kicks, amongst others, are not available in the analysis.

    Advantage YOU!

These prices have then been analysed to identify the most affordable and the most expensive cars in the segment. More importantly, this will enable you to make a decision with your eyes open and with complete confidence.

Here’s how you can use the CarDekho Spare Parts Survey analysis:

    • Find the most affordable cars to repair and maintain

    • Bust myths -- some cars are better to own than you would believe

    • Find out ownership cost of your preferred vehicle

    • Identify the expensive parts of your vehicle

    • Compare prices from your service experience

The detailed analysis for the 12 segments will be released on CarDekho in the coming weeks:
