Car recalls are meant to iron out any possible manufacturing defects that could have passed to the final production vehicle. These niggles are usually found through the constant tests that the companies run on their products. Their risk assessment exercises find out whether a car component poses any hazard or fails to meet the safety regulations in real-world conditions.
