Chevrolet Beat hits 3,415 units during June 2010

General Motors India, a fully owned subsidiary of US based leading car maker General Motors, has managed to sell 3,415 units of its most popular hatchback Chevrolet Beat in the country, during the month of June this year. The Chevrolet Beat model was launched in the country in the month of January 2010, at the Delhi Auto Expo and since then, the model has been receiving a very good response from the Indian buyers.
The Chevrolet Beat model is competing neck to neck against its rivals in the India market including Maruti Wagon R and A-star, Volkswagen Polo and Ford Figo. The Chevrolet Beat model comes only in the petrol
version along with three variants. All of these three variants of Chevrolet Beat are powered by the same capacity engine but they differ in terms luxuries and other features. It comes equipped with a 1.2L, 1199cc, 16Valve DOHC petrol engine that produces 80.5PS of maximum power with 108Nm of maximum torque and delivers excellent engine performance. According to the ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India), Chevrolet Beat offers a mileage of 18.6kmpl in standard test conditions.
Company's overall sales witnessed a whooping 112% increase with 9,539 units sold during this month, as against 4,492 units in June 2009. The June 2010 sales of the company comprised of 3,415 units of Chevrolet Beat, 2,911 units of the Chevrolet Spark, 773 units of the Chevrolet Cruze, 1,423 units of the Chevrolet Tavera, 398 Units of Chevrolet Aveo, 387 units of Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, 139 units of the Chevrolet Captiva and 93 units of Chevrolet Optra Magnum.
