General Motors is witnessing dip in sales due to the pre economic set back. The American auto manufacturer has come up with a lucrative offer in order to grab the attention of its customers. It has been reported that the American auto mobile maker is planning to launch a brand new system to stream the online radio from Pandora in its new Chevrolet brand cars starting with Chevrolet Volt and Chevrolet Equinox.

As per the reports GM has planned the same to regain its position which it lost to Ford Motors Co in the competitive auto market for the digital entertainment systems in cars. GM mentioned that in 2012 Chevrolet Volt and Chevrolet Equinox may come affixed with “Chevry MyLink” a new system colour touch screen display in the dashboard. The system will feature the car drivers to listen to music from Pandora Media Inc by syncing the car to a smartphone and by making use of the Pandora account.

According to the report, Dan Akerson Chief Executive, said that the priority was to focus on vehicle electronics. It is the first such service from the company since the new CEO's arrival in September. GM was also the first to introduce an on-board safety and navigation system which was launched in 1996, a satellite system that the company made on its own. But Ford Motors is enjoying the success by joining hands with Microsoft Corp, the company managed to create momentum with Sync, an entertainment system which is driving young buyers crazy. The newer version of the Ford system, called as MyFord Touch, in its car models including Ford Edge the crossover in the last year.

General Motors is expected to bring in the MyLink system in all its cars in the coming 18 months. Other than Pandora, GM has declared that it will join hands with Nuance Communications and Sony Corp's subsidiary Gracemnote. Nuance will help in providing voice recognition system for Chevy MyLink system which will allow access to the car drivers to take in charge of their phones also select radio stations or songs. On the other hand Gracenote will provide a service that will recognize music which is being played and will pop out the artist name, track and other info.

I am so proud of GM these day's, because no other auto manufacturer in the world can build a vehicle as reliable and durable. To be quite honest, vehciles are made to drive and get you from pioint A to B as quickly and efficiently as possible, and GM made vehicles have been doing this for approxiamtley a century. I hate how GM is not receiving a great deal of credit for their ONSTAR system and all of the other tech savy features their vehicles offer, and its all because of that uselass sync system that was made mostly by Microsoft. You see, GM invented and created the ONSTAR system all by itself and received help from no one what so ever. Ford as usual needed the assistance of a company such as microsoft, which is no surprise. Yes, GM did need assistance from the government due to their bailout, but they are paying every cent they borrowed back.

This is a revelation for me. In the States we have Satellite Radio. The only two brands, Sirius and XM, were merged when the economy went down. At that time the subscription price went up, I assume because of fixed operating costs and fewer customers. It works well on the highway. The big buildings, bridges and tunnels in Louisville require repeater stations that work well, although seemingly they are not in the poor neighborhoods. Also in the mountains of Kentucky, like Red River Gorge, the signal cannot reach some areas. A lot of these areas lose cell phone signal also, but this new system at least would give me an option if Satellite keeps raising their rates!
