American automaker Chevrolet has made a splash at the ongoing 2016 Bangkok Motor Show by unveiling its Colorado Xtreme pickup truck concept. For the uninitiated, the Colorado truck is a pickup version of the company’s Trailblazer SUV. The Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme concept is based on the facelifted version of the Trailblazer that was showcased as well.
This version of the pickup truck features bumper skid plates, an overdose of body cladding, a hood scoop and 18-inch full mud terrain tyres. All of these aesthetic updates give this version of the Colorado an ultimate off-roader look.
As one steps inside the car, they are greeted with a plethora of creature comforts, which break away from the overall rugged appeal of the car’s exteriors. It gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Passengers also get auxiliary gauges which are placed over the dashboard, along with the grab handle that is situated on the passenger side of the dashboard. This somewhat helps the occupants relate to the extremeness of this utility vehicle.
As of now, the Colorado Xtreme pickup truck is just a concept, but the American automaker might launch a body kit on the lines of the concept. However, there has been no official word on the release date, or whether this body kit will also be made available for the outgoing model of Chevrolet Trailblazer in markets such as India. Earlier, in February, a version of the Colorado pickup truck was showcased at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo, which featured a similar design approach and colour scheme. This Colorado, however, was based on the pre-facelift version of the Trailblazer SUV.
