Now with the Sail UVA launch out of the way, General Motors can focus on the next two launches on its list; the Sail sedan and Enjoy MPV. However reports are in that there will be a delay in the launches of both these vehicles. Previously we had informed our readers that the Sail notchback sedan and Enjoy MPV would be launched by in December; this however is no longer a certainty. GM has announced a possible delay in the launches that may result in the cars coming out by early 2013.

In addition to that, GM has already announced plans for the extra 4-5 models being launched over the next 4-5 years. From the looks of it, GM has aggressive expansion of its Indian car line-up in mind. The Sail sedan will be replacing the existing Chevrolet Aveo model due to it being obsolete and is expected to compete with entry-level sedans like Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Toyota Etios and Tata Indigo.

The Enjoy MPV on the other hand will be GM’s first MPV in the Indian market and is expected to offer competition to the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Nissan Evalia and Toyota Innova. The Chevrolet Sail sedan will house the Fiat sourced 1.3-litre TDI mill that is also available in the Swift Dzire. The power output form this engine will be 75bhp with 210Nm of peak torque. The mileage figure is expected to be around 22kmpl.
