General Motors has been seeking a BSIV compliant diesel engine for its Chevrolet Tavera model. But now the company is content as it’s look out for the same has finally come to an end. During the celebration of second anniversary of GM India’s Talegaon plant, it was revealed that ICML's Rover-designed 2.0litre common-rail diesel engine will now be placed under the hood of Tavera.
ICML's Rover-designed 2.0litre common-rail diesel engine which will soon be placed in Tavera will add a dramatic development to the current package that Chevrolet Tavera offers.This engine contains 123PS of power. It also possesses a robust torque which is considered the best in its category. Also the tractabilty as well as the driveability of this engine will make it quite easy to direct the engine’s potential.

It is a happy moment for the company, as on one side, General Motors has won the National Safety Award for the second consecutive year courtesy the Halol manufacturing plant of the company. the Halol plant won this award uder the Best Safety Systems. By the end of the present year, the company intends to start a powertrain plant at the Talegaon campus. For General Motors, this would be the first plant, globally, which will manufacture both the diesel and petrol engines. The other reason for GM happiness is the second anniversary of company’s plant in Talegaon.
