General Motors that stopped the production of its flagship MUV Tavera in India few months back, has now started to reproduce the vehicle after getting regulatory approvals.
In July this year, General Motors had recalled 1,14,000 Tavera units because of issues relating to emission standards and other regulatory specifications. And prior to that, the company had stopped the production and sale of Tavera BS III and BS IV models.
However, General Motors India has only received approval for BS III 7,8,9 and 10 seaters, approval for BS IV models is still under process.
Speaking to Reuters, General Motors India Vice President P. Balendran said, "GM India has already received BS III 7,8,9 and 10 seater type approvals and production has also started." "BS IV approval is under process and approval is expected anytime now and will start production soon ", he added.
This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the same. Cheers!
