It is the trim where Maruti introduces the option of the self-charging hybrid powertrain with a claimed efficiency of 27.97kmpl
One of the main highlights for the new Maruti Grand Vitara is its strong hybrid powertrain. It is offered from this trim onwards. Even without the new powertrain technology, the Zeta variant has a fairly attractive package with more features for its nearly Rs 2 lakh premium over the previous trim. Let’s see if it happens to offer the best value in the Grand Vitara lineup:

Why consider the Zeta variant?
In this trim, the Grand Vitara is equipped with many premium features such as a nine-inch infotainment display, blue ambient lighting, and a rear washer and wiper. The Zeta variant looks upmarket as well with LED lighting all-around and sitting on 16-inch alloy wheels. It has more safety features as it now comes with side and curtain airbags for a total of six, along with hill hold assist, rear parking camera and ESP.

Why skip the Zeta variant?
While the Zeta variant does offer many of the Grand Vitara’s premium features, it is not the best version of the Maruti compact SUV. You’re still missing out on the 360-degree view camera, ventilated front seats and a leatherette upholstery. However, you could also get a few extra features by opting for the strong-hybrid powertrain in the Zeta+ trim.

For a hefty premium of Rs 2.6 lakh, you can have the Zeta variant of the Maruti Grand Vitara with the new strong-hybrid powertrain.
Why consider the Zeta+ hybrid variant?
The hybrid option comes with the obvious benefit of increased fuel economy with a claimed figure of nearly 28kmpl, 7-8kmpl more than the equivalent petrol-automatic option. Over time, your reduced running costs will make up for this premium and you’ll know that your SUV will also have lower emissions.

Additionally, the Zeta+ hybrid trim comes with a sportier cabin theme in black and plenty more premium features. It comes with a panoramic sunroof, a seven-inch digital driver’s display, a head-up display and a wireless charger as well which makes it worth the premium.
It is too basic to recommend, but acts as an affordable entry-point to the compact SUV segment. |

The true entry-level option on a strict budget, only consider it with the automatic transmission. |

With the strong hybrid powertrain, it is our recommended variant for its premium features and fuel economy. |

To truly experience all its premium features, you’ll have to pay the premium for the strong hybrid powertrain. Can be considered for its AWD option as well. |
