Domestic Car Sales Declined by 22.52 per cent in March 2013

Last fiscal was not great for the car manufacturers in India. Even, the Domestic passenger cars sales in March has declined by 22.52 per cent to 1,80,675 units as against 2,33,151 units in the same month of 2012.
Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has released all the data having march sales report of all the sections of vehicles including two-wheeler, passenger cars and Commercial vehicles. According to SIAM the motorcycle sales in March recorded a negative growth of 8.32 per cent to 7,70,878 units from 8,50,637 units in the same month previous year.
The commercial vehicle segment too recorded a slowdown, registered a negative growth of 6.04 per cent to 84,956 units fas against 90,416 units last year. SIAM said that the total sales of the vehicles across categories is also in a negative phase. Overall section of Indian automotive industry recorded a fall of 7.76 per cent to 14,86,522 units in March 2013 compared to 16,11,525 units previous year March 2012.
