The latest offering from Renault is its all new Duster. The utility vehicle managed to take on its segment and came out dominating the same. The car was refreshed to bestow the feel of one, which far exceeds its price bracket and at Rs. 8.4 lakh (Ex-showroom, New Delhi), it truly does.
The Creature Comforts
Inside the cabin, the Duster facelift comes with a range of new gizmos. With exception to the subtle changes on the dashboard, Duster facelift will be offered with automatic climate control, MediaNav 7-inch uni with reversing camera + guidelines, auto-up/down driver’s side windows, relocated electronically adjustable/foldable ORVMs knob, etc.
The Drive
Renault revealed that the Duster facelift comes with new ‘CMO10’ engine compartment. These advancements lend the car with a strengthened structure. Secondly, improving the drivability of the Duster facelift are the T4 ‘Electrical and Electronics’.
The Grunt
Duster facelift is offered with an AMT gearbox unit for its 110 PS diesel variants. This is the Easy-R automated manual transmission gearbox, which is based on the company’s standard 6-Speed manual unit. This will in-turn, makes the Duster's drive a lot more comfortable and will help it rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, which is the only other car in its segment to offer a diesel automatic.
The Looks
Duster was always a very rugged looking vehicle and Renault has time and again stated that the automaker tries to incorporate European SUV styling into its car. With this facelift, the French automaker has managed to do the same. The facelifted car flaunts an all new grille, subtly redesigned bumper, refreshed headlamp clusters, which incorporate tweaked double barrel setup. The headlamps are accented with daytime running lights and tail lights feature LED clusters.
Moving down to the wheels, the car rides on gun-metal finished alloys. Other new updates include an all new colour, the ‘Cayenne Orange’.
The overhaul continues on the inside as well. The car’s cabin gets soft touch materials, colour pallets and sportier upholstery.
