Euro-Spec Honda CR-V Revealed

Honda, the Japanese carmaker has revealed the details of its European-spec CR-V SUV. The car now gets a bunch of cosmetic upgrades in the form of newly designed HID headlamps with LED DRLs, redesigned bumper, infotainment system with 7-inch touch-screen and much more. New in the SUV is the 9-speed automatic transmission in the diesel model which helps in giving a fuel economy of 20.4kmpl.

The interior of Honda CR-V boasts multifunction steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. In terms of safety, the SUV comes equipped with ABS, four airbags, hill start, stability assist and park assist with reverse camera. The SUV also features Adaptive Cruise Control system

Under the hood, the SUV replaces 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine to embrace more fuel efficient 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine tuned in a way to deliver power in two states-118bhp and 158bhp. The engine is mated to new 9-speed automatic gearbox which delivers power uniformly.

As the CR-V gets updated in UK, we expect similar changes in the Indian spec too. The SUV is said to feature either a 1.6-litre i-DTEC or 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. The bigger 2.2-litre engine musters a max power of 148bhp with peak torque of 350Nm, while on petrol front, the automaker may retain its 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre i-VTEC engines.
