Exclusive: Fiat Confirms Punto EVO Launch in First Week of August; Avventura to follow just After!

Fiat will launch the 2014 Punto facelift christened as 'Punto EVO' in the first week of August, booking of the Italian beauty will start soon. While the world premier of the Made-for-India Fiat Avventura, which they call it - CUV 'Contemporary Urban Vehicle' will be made soon after the Punto EVO launch sometime in September. But one thing is for sure you can drive home both the vehicle before this Diwali! This has been confirmed by Nagesh Basavanahalli, President and MD Fiat India in an exclusive interview with CarDekho.

2014 Fiat Punto EVO

. The new Punto gets fresh new face and spruced up rear while the added chrome accents have fueled-in the premiumness in the hatch.
. Sharing the face with the Avventura crossover, Punto EVO offers new swept back headlamps, fresh grille and bumper. The rear gets LED taillamps and tweaked bumper.
. Continuing the features of the current Punto, the car adds few segment first goodies like rear AC vents, 16-inch alloys, etc.
. Mechanically, Punto will feature similar powertrains 1.2 and 1.4 liter FIRE petrol and the 1.3 liter Multi-Jet in both 75bhp and 90bhp states of tune.

Fiat Avventura - CUV 'Contemporary Urban Vehicle'

. Entering into the rebellious compact crossover SUV segment with rivals like the segment topping Ford EcoSport, the mighty Renault Duster and the premium Nissan Terrano. Avventura is certainly the fourth one to enter in the compact crossover SUV arena.
. Adding to this respect, Avventura is coming with segment-first features like projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, off-road gauges and ambient lighting. The vehicle also sports all-around body cladding and a spare wheel mounted on the boot-lid.

. The crossover is likely to feature best-in-class ground clearance (GC), even the Punto on which the vehicle is based on offers segment best ground clearance of 195mm. The higher GC offers easy ride-ability in rough terrain.
. The Avventura will share the powerplants with the Punto; expected ones are the 1.4L FIRE petrol and 1.3L 90HP Multi-Jet turbo diesel.
