And here comes the first ever spied pictures of the much speculated Fiat 500XL, which is an India bound Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) to be positioned against Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The Fiat 500XL is basically an extended version of the company's popular vehicle 500L. The 500XL has a third row of seats in addition to the 500L, making it a proper 7-seater vehicle.
The Fiat 500XL MPV is likely to get into production by end of this month in Kragujevac, Serbia, while the launch in Europe should happen 2-3 months later to that. While in global market, the 500XL will carry the similar engine options- a 1.4-litre and 0.9 Multi-Air petrol engines and 1.3-litre Multije and 1.6-litre Multijet II diesel powertrains. But here in India, Fiat is likely to use the 1.3-litre Multijet engine with VGT that is used by Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the upcoming Chevrolet Enjoy MPV.
And like we reported earlier, other Fiat vehicles that are lined up to come in India include a new Fiat Linea, Abarth Punto, A compact SUV and range of Jeep models. So with an entirely new model line-up and aggressively growing dealership network should certainly help Fiat to increase its market share. And we being Fiat lovers, would wish to happen the same.
This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on Fiat's upcoming vehicles. Cheers!
